Common Logo Designing Mistakes

Hi friends, As this is my first post , So today I would like to tell you about some common mistakes which people usually do while designing logos for clients or for themselves.

Logo is a visual personality of your business. It projects the image of your business. So, its an essential part of your business. Quality of Logo suggests a superiority and inferiority of products. It shows a first impression of your business. Some of the common Logo mistakes that you can avoid.

1. Avoid Using Clipart as Logo

Many Softwares distribute clipart images but any one who is familiar with that software will easily recognize your copied logo. This reduces the crediblity of your Business.

2. The "Letters" Logo

Using the text as your logo will restrict the ability to express your company's uniqueness and memorablity. But still you can increase your logo's effectiveness by altering the letters and see if your logo works, If it works -its good otherwise need to consider a visual element.

3. Avoid using Filters

Try to make your Logo simple. Avoid adding special effects to it. Filters like glows, drop shadows etc because they can be distracting when applied to Logo. Don't give your Logo a raindow effect - means do not use more than three colors and make sure your logo should be able to impress in Black and white, without any effects.

4. Make it Simple

Always try to make your Logo simple yet attractive and memorable because complexity or photos integration leads to a poor Logo. Simle and Creative Logos have greater impact than complex ones.

5. No "hard n fast"

There are no hard n fast rule. The main motive is to make Client and viewers happy and satisfactory. No matters you are using Special effects, or text but you should use them is such a way that everyone likes it and alongwith it also projects a business image.

How to choose a right designing company

On the Internet today, there are many people who call themselves web designers and web design companies. Some people do it for fun, as a hobby or part-time. Web designers that design full-time are the way to go.. Someone who does web design in their part-time tends not to take it as seriously as someone who does it for a living. There are also people who do web design, who have no formal training. Make sure your web designer has some formal training from a recognized school.

Before you start searching for the perfect web designing company, you must first analyze your needs and requirements. You must make a list of primary needs that you want your website to satisfy. Also, list down the secondary needs! You must also have a fair idea of your target audience and should be able to convey everything to your web designing company.

The primary considerations for choosing a web design firm are:

* Price
* Customer service/access to support
* Credibility indicators of the design firm
* Portfolio and design experience
* Other services offered (domain renewal, hosting, SEO)
* Turnaround time

Let's take a closer look at each consideration in detail, and explore how to identify and qualify the right design firm.

Every company has a portfolio of work that it has done in the past. You must ask to be shown the company's earlier work. Website designing is more of an art, then a science. Hence, put value on experience and previous work. Once going through the portfolio, you will have a clear idea about the number of projects undertaken by the company, the kind of clients, and types of projects.

Determine the web design firm that is responsible for the websites of organizations that you admire. These organizations may be your competitors, or in related or unrelated industries. Sometimes the web design firm is included in the site credits, or is listed elsewhere on the website. If you cannot find the credits on the site itself, feel free to contact the organization and ask which web design firm is responsible for the website. This can also be a good source for references for that web design firm.

We have more than one client who came to us after bad experiences with their previous web design company, bringing me swiftly on to a very important point: Don't work with someone you have never met. Some web designers work by communicating only by email. It just doesn't work. Establishing a good face-to-face rapport, which can be continued by telephone (and email as well of course!), is essential to building a productive and enjoyable business relationship. You need to have good, open, honest communication with your web design company so that you get exactly what you want, and maybe even have some fun along the way.

Finally we come to the all-important step of choosing a web design company. Remember that building a website involves the separate skills of design and development. You need a company with expertise in both web design and web development. And if the firm has business skills, then better still, as you will find if you search for web design companies in Birmingham, they have a lot of al round skills in web development and offering web based solutions.
